What is a domain?

The domain name comes after the https/http protocol and www in your website browser's address bar. For example, the website address for Consumer Focus Marketing is https://www.consumerfocusmarketing.com and the domain name is consumerfocusmarketing.com. Notice how the domain is everything after the www in the URL.

Why do we use domain names?

Without a domain name, we would have to remember a series of numbers (called an IP address) to visit a specific website. For example, if you wanted to visit www.consumerfocusmarketing.com you would have to enter a numeric code like 104.21.28.162 into the address bar.
